Board applications
Do you want to help Mundus make the next steps? Apply for a board position! Here is some information about what positions are available and other practicalities:
A board year lasts one year, starting on the first of May and ending on the first of May the year after.
You can apply for a board position:
• If you are a member of Mundus;
• If you are registered as a student at one of the institutions in the Haaglanden region;
• If you are not occupying a board position at another association;
• If you are at least 18 years of age when applying for the board
You can apply by filling out the form. You will have to send in your CV and a small motivation letter. The board will review your application and invite you for an interview. Two board members will conduct the interview. One of them has the position you applied for. Some things that could come up in the interview are:
The applicant’s long-term aims for the Society;
The applicant’s ideas on the improvement of the Society;
The applicant’s commitment to the Society
After the interviews, the board will decide who to nominate at the GA. The board has to take the diversity criteria into account:
The board must contain students from at least two different educational institutions based in the Haaglanden region
The board must contain at least two Dutch and two international students
No more than ⅔ of the board can be of the same gender
If you are nominated by the board, you will have to introduce yourself at the GA. Then, the GA votes on the candidates. If you gain a ⅔ majority, then you are elected.
The months of May and June will serve as a transition period. During this time, the previous board will teach the new board everything they need to know and guide them in their journey. During the transition period, the new board will write a year plan indicating their intentions for the board year.
